A while ago, I met Jon Bon Jovi's brother. He was super cool and very supportive of my occupation. Bon Jovi was in town so he hooked me up along with a friend of mine with a few tickets, passes to stand on the stage during the show, and two VIP Backstage passes. He gave us a tour of the stage while it was going up. It was it bit odd being on the stage looking out at 60,000 empty seats. We went back to catering had a bite to eat and I started calling a few friends to see if they wanted to come out to the show. The tickets flew out of my hand. One special person would be coming to the show. My son!!! He and his buddy would soon be watching the show from the stage. I didn't know so many people liked Bon Jovi (60,000 seats...duh...). I had just received a killer Ibanez guitar from my wife for Christmas (photo coming soon). It's black with a cool white binding around the body. I needed to get some autographs from the band, so I drove home, cleared it with my wife (who was in Frankfurt), and brought the guitar to Jon's brother. He said "No problem". He gave me a tourbook in which the band autographed the centerfold poster. Nice! The show started and it was time to get up on stage and enjoy the show. My son arrived with his buddy's mother and was ready to go. We had a great time to say the least. In between one of the songs I yelled out to Ritchie Sambora who was about 10 feet from us. He walked over to his amp, took a drink, grabbed a few guitar picks, walked over to my son and handed him three guitar picks (my friend caught all of this on his video recorder). He handed my son's friend a few picks, shook my hand, and went back out to start the next song. After the show, I went backstage to fetch my guitar which was fully autographed with a silver pen. We hung out with Jon's personal assistant. She gave me one of Jon's New Jersey State Police hats and one of Tico Torres' drumsticks from the show. Thanks! What a show, to say the least!!! Nice people, good music, and a big smile on my son's face. What more could I ask for?
